Riverhorse has produced a series of six films to support Manchester’s annual presence at the MIPIM property event in Cannes.
The exhibition brings together the most influential decision-makers in the industry, offering them access to the largest showcase of development opportunities during four days of uninterrupted activity in Cannes.
Since the first event held in 2000, Manchester has built up an enviable presence at MIPIM and attracted millions in investment. The Manchester at MIPIM Partnership, which involves a range of public and private sector partners, is led by Marketing Manchester and is supported by Manchester City Council.
The theme for the Manchester presence this year is innovation and Marketing Manchester commissioned Riverhorse to make a series of short documentaries on some of Manchester’s recent global success stories.
Four of the films are focussed on recent Nobel Prize winners Kostya Novoselov, a professor at the University of Manchester and one of the inventors of Graphene, and, father of IVF, Manchester’s Dr Robert Edwards. The last two feature recent winner of the Man Booker Prize novelist Howard Jacobson.
Riverhorse producer Geseth Garcia stated that: “Being based in Manchester and having a strong connection to the city, we were delighted to get involved with this project. Manchester has achieved a fantastic reputation as a city of innovation over the years. We were pleased to be able to tell a small part of that story.”
