Corridor Connections launch new service to encourage collaboration and innovation

Corridor Connections, part of the Corridor Manchester partnership has today launched Corridor Conversations, a new online service which aims to encourage, foster and support collaboration and innovation across the City by bringing businesses and people together to find solutions to a series of challenges.

Jane Davies, chief executive, Manchester Science Parks Ltd and project champion for Corridor Connections said: “The Corridor Connections events and Conversations are providing a platform for businesses and organisations to connect around technology and market-led opportunities.

“We are creating a 21st century innovation community, bringing together science with the arts, healthcare with the digital community, artists with physicists, many of whom are based on the Corridor.  Conversations will be started, ideas will be sparked, and ultimately innovation will happen within a supportive and vibrant environment.  Getting started and keeping collaborative innovation activities going are challenges for which most organisations need some assistance. Corridor Connections provide the stimulus and support that businesses need.”

The aim of Corridor Conversations is to bring people together, to draw upon their different skills and experience to develop new innovations and inventions, whether they are products or services, and help bring them to the market. 

Each month the Corridor Connections team will pose a series of challenges on Corridor Conversations - some big, some small, some real, some hypothetical – and encourage members to discuss and collaborate on them using the online platform, there is also an option to arrange meet up to explore ideas off-line too.

Corridor Connections is a two year pilot project delivered by Manchester Science Parks Ltd (msp) on behalf of Corridor Manchester and it is funded by the NWDA and the Manchester Innovation Investment Fund.  Its role to is develop commercial cross sector activity, allowing businesses on the Corridor to benefit from working together and reaching out across Greater Manchester, nationally and internationally.

In addition to the online community, Corridor Connections organises and hosts events; these include the Connections Cafe held every Friday from 8am-9.30am in the Manchester Museum Cafe on Oxford Road.  More events are listed on the website.

Corridor Manchester
